Legion Scotland Day 80 Concert

Legion Scotland Day 80 Concert

(L) Bugler Alex Beveridge, (Centre) DDAY Veteran Cyril (Lou) Bird MM, and Lance Corporal Bugler Bailey Ryan (R) from the Band off His Majesty’s Royal Marines Scotland

Thursday 6 June

Our Secretary was honoured to be invited to this event by Legion Scotland and PoppyScotland to represent WWA. It was an emotional evening, full of beautiful music, moving stories and original footage from D-Day. The presence of 3 D-Day veterans made it even more special.

Well done to all involved in the organisation of this incredible evening. Scotland should be rightly proud of how they remembered #DDay80.

From Legion Scotland FB page:
A few highlights from last night’s Scotland’s Salute concert at the Usher Hall, commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Music was provided by the world-famous band of The Bands of HM Royal Marines Scotland, The Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland, The Highland Band The Royal Regiment of Scotland, The Lowland Band The Royal Regiment of Scotland, Dunfermline Pipe Band, Military Wives Choirs and 2 SCOTS – Pipes, Drums & Bugles.

A national event in partnership with PoppyScotland.
